About

The 250 MW Solar / 20 MW Storage Genesee Road Solar and Storage Project located in New York will become operational in 2030. EDF Renewables is handling the development of this project.

New York is leading the nation, with a goal of using 70% renewables by 2030, and EDF Renewables is leading the solar energy charge starting with the Genesee Road Solar and Storage Project. A growing solution to energy demands, solar power is a safe, clean technology that NY residents and businesses want now. The initiatives outlined in the State Energy Plan can be found here.

The Genesee Road Solar and Storage Project is a proposed 250-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) solar energy generation facility, which may include approximately 20 MW of energy storage, in the Towns of Sardinia and Concord, Erie County, New York.

The Facility will safely generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power approximately 62,000 New York households. The Facility will interconnect to the New York power grid via a new Point of Interconnection (POI) in the Town of Sardinia, tapping into New York State Electric & Gas’s Southwest to Stolle Road 345 kilovolt (“kV”) transmission line which runs through the project area. The Facility will be sited on approximately 2,200 acres of leased private land.
